It was another busy day in our house! It started out with a wake up call of miss Avaya jumping on our bed at 8 AM. I rolled my tired self out of bed to make breakfast. The morning was spent wishing I could go back to sleep. At about ten I went to go wake up dad. I crawled in next to him and tried to wake him up nicely. The kids were quietly playing with their kitchen set in their bedroom. Soon I was dozing. I woke up to the sound of a toilet flush. Never a good sound with a two year old that is just potty training and a one year old that likes to put things in the toilet. I hopped out of bed and went to investigate. Sure enough it was bad! Toilet water all over the floor, two guilty faces and a toy bowl bobbing in the toilet. I cleaned them up and shut the bathroom door so I could clean up the mess they made. Ten minutes, a couple towels, and a whole bunch of bathroom cleaner later I left the bathroom. As I was leaving I spotted a tomato. I picked it up and found a huge bite taken out of it. I pondered for a minute on the randomness of a tomato in my hallway. Apparently Avaya decided to try cooking a tomato in her play kitchen and realized she was not a fan of them. I walked into the kids room to find their toy sink with water in it along with an empty pop can which I could only assume was used for transportation of the toilet water. Using more towels and bathroom cleaner I cleaned up that disaster and headed downstairs. After lunch I left to go grocery shopping and dad to watch the stinkers. I came home with the groceries set them in the kitchen and went to park the car. When I got inside I realized the kids had started eating lemonade powder packets as well as emptied half the grocery bags. I walked through the powder and over the groceries making my way to the bathroom. In there I found a poopy diaper and a little potty full of toilet paper. Avaya must have had a bowel movement in a diaper and decided to clean it up by herself since mom wasn’t home. I quickly peed and then started cleaning up the mess. I washed my hands before starting on the kitchen mess. This one involved soapy water and a different cleaning spray (we go through a lot of cleaner around here). I sent the kids to play with dad while I finished putting away the groceries and cleaning. Now the kids are happily climbing on me and jumping on the couch. I’m just hoping the big messes are done for today. All I can say is good thing they are so cute!
Well here is my life summed up in one picture! The sassy dark haired beauty on the left is my daughter Avaya and the one grinning on the right is my son Dayton. They are definitely going through a terroristic toddler stage right now. This picture is actually from a little while ago but it seems to be shareable. That day we had all arrived home from a ten hour overnight drive back from North Dakota (a bad start to any day). Dad was taking a nap upstairs while I was running around like a chicken with my head cut off frantic because we were late (this is a very normal occurrence). We were headed to a work Christmas party and running an hour late. I had the kids bathed and dressed so I ran out to start the car so we wouldn’t freeze to death on our way to the party. After frantically starting the car I ran back inside to brush my teeth. I shoved my hair in the regular ponytail I went to wake up Dad. As he was falling back asleep I ran back downstairs to get the kids shoes and coats on...
